Teacher Education is the process of training teachers to improve the quality of teaching performance. Teachers are required to attain a specified level of education to teach in different schools. This education can be general, special education, or professional educator education depending on the kind of school they wish to work in. There are also other kinds of teacher education like occupational education and gifted education. The aim of all these education programs is to provide quality education to students.

The science and art are two broad fields of teacher education, which pervade almost every school. Curriculum Vitae (CV) is the document that is submitted to a prospective school for making an offer on a teaching job. Professional teacher education is a kind of program offered by organizations like Association of American Educators or AAAE or National Council for Teacher Education. Educational policy and practice to refer to the education policies and practices adopted in every state, aimed at creating an effective, well-integrated, and well-thought-of system of teaching. Policy and practice include all policies regarding instruction, assessment, grading, discipline, competency, parental involvement, and student safety. These policies ensure that children are provided equal opportunity in schools.

Professional teacher education curriculum is a planned curriculum devised for teaching professionals. This curriculum ensures that all aspects of teaching practice are covered under one roof so that teachers can apply their knowledge effectively. This curriculum involves the teaching principles and concepts like descriptive teaching, context-based teaching, cross-curricular teaching, pedagogy, and many others.

Teacher education includes new teachers’ basic learning skills, teaching methods, teaching strategies, assessment of teaching skills and knowledge transferability. This curriculum also includes guidelines for teachers’ professional development and professional practice. In the process of developing this curriculum, important considerations are given to current teacher needs, practices, theory and research evidence. Since this curriculum is developed for new teachers, it may not be applicable to teachers already teaching in the field.

The most commonly discussed aspect of teacher education is the need to train new teachers. While some new teachers will be skilled with existing techniques, other teachers may need specialized training to enhance their competences and obtain necessary certification. In most states, both experienced and inexperienced teachers are required to undergo initial teacher training. Although teachers can take an online teacher education course from home, most states require that teachers take an approved training course at a state-approved school or institution. Some states also provide additional teacher certification, including continuing education and professional development, upon completion of initial teacher education programs.

Aside from continuing professional development, teachers who wish to enhance their employability are required to complete teacher education and CPDS courses. These courses are designed to help teachers strengthen their teaching skills by improving their knowledge, acquiring new skills, enhancing their instructional methods and expanding their knowledge of professional practice. In addition to the increased employability in schools and colleges, these courses are essential tools that support effective instruction. As schools and colleges become more demanding of teachers, the development of effective CPDS courses is increasingly important. In order to facilitate the learning process, most states require that teachers take a minimum of two CPDS courses per year.
